Walking into a new barbershop for the first time is oddly stressful. You are about to hand a stranger a pair of clippers and hope you both mean the same thing by "not too short." Here is exactly how a first visit goes, so nothing about it is a surprise.
Walk in, or book? Both work
Walk-ins are welcome every day we are open. Booking online does one thing: it holds your hour so you are not standing around. It takes about twenty seconds and needs no account. If you are coming after work or on a Saturday — the two busiest stretches of the week for every shop in Cape Coral — book. If you are passing by on a Tuesday afternoon, walk in.
How long it takes
Plan on an hour. That is the length of one appointment slot here, and it is deliberate: a skin fade blended properly, checked from both sides and finished with a clean line-up does not happen in twelve minutes. A simple clean-up may finish sooner. If you have somewhere to be, say so when you sit down and your barber will tell you honestly whether it fits.
What to say when you sit down
You do not need the vocabulary. The three things that actually help your barber are:
- How short on the sides — and whether you want skin showing or a bit of length left. If you do not know the words, "fade or taper" is the whole decision.
- What you want to keep on top — how much length you actually use when you style it in the morning.
- How you wear it day to day — pushed back, forward, or left alone. This matters more than any number.
A photo is worth more than any description, even a bad one off your phone. Bring one. And if you are unsure, ask your barber what they would do with your hair type — that is the part you are paying for.
What to bring, and what not to
Bring a card or cash — we take Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover and cash. Do not bother washing your hair right before: slightly dry hair cuts more predictably than freshly wet hair. Do not arrive twenty minutes early expecting to be taken early; do arrive on time, because the hour is yours and it starts when it starts. After the cut
You will get a hot towel and a style finish before you leave the chair. Look in the mirror properly and say something if a line is not where you want it — fixing an edge takes thirty seconds while you are still sitting there, and it is a hassle for nobody. Most guests settle into coming back every two to three weeks once they know their cut.
