A kid's haircut is half haircut, half patience. Some children sit still and enjoy the whole thing; others decide halfway through that the clippers are the enemy. Our barbers have done both, plenty of times, and nobody at Shave Barbershop is going to rush your child or make them feel bad about a bad day.
What we do for kids
The Kids Haircut is $35 and covers ages 12 and under. Whatever style they want is fine — a fade, a scissor cut, a classic short back and sides — and it finishes with a clean line-up so it looks sharp for school photos or the weekend. The chair is booked for a full hour, which matters more than parents expect: it means the barber can stop, let your child take a breath, and start again without a queue building up behind you.
Tips for a first haircut
If it is their very first time, book earlier in the day when they are rested rather than right before dinner. Let them watch you get cut first if you can. Tell them what the clippers sound like before they are switched on, and skip the promise that it will be "quick" — a full hour with no pressure works far better than a rushed ten minutes. Bringing a favourite toy or a tablet is completely fine with us.
Two haircuts, one trip
Plenty of families book a parent and a child back to back. Dad's Classic Haircut is $35, or $45 with the beard and eyebrows done, and grandparents 65 and over pay $20. Pick two times in a row when you book online and you are in and out in one stop.
